In this presentation on digestive health, we will explore the role and dynamics of the microbiota in health and disease and learn practical ways to improve our digestion.
You will learn the latest scientific research on the microbiome, it’s connection to digestion, the immune system and emotional health. You will understand what constitutes pre- and probiotic foods. Discover how fermenting differs from pickling, the history and the health benefits of live cultured foods.
A basic sauerkraut demonstration is included. You will have the opportunity to taste other live cultured foods (like kimchi and gingered carrots, kefir, kombucha) Recipes for using your sauerkraut in a variety of ways from soup to salads, entrees and even smoothies will be included.
